Unfortunately

the adventures of an idealist
1 min readFeb 6, 2021

It’s like a vicious cycle, with politicians, it really doesn’t matter which party they represent, they are in it for themselves. Everything they do is to guarantee that they stay in their seat in the halls of power. The extent to which GOP members go, pushing lies and conspiracy theories, they know are false, just to appease their constituents, their party’s base.

So where does that leave the people? Vote for someone who only has their own interests in mind? How is that useful? Who looks out for us? The answer is no one but ourselves, in reality. That is the world we live in.

That is where insecurity, solitude, greed, selfishness come into the picture, due to a lack of a collective mind, a society where we look out for each other. That’s an ideal situation, not so sure we have it in ourselves to get there.

I think we might just destroy the planet and ourselves before we get there. That’s my pessimistic view of human nature.

I do hope I’m wrong about this. Either way, I won’t be here to see it.
